Because of their expertise in the field of adsorption, the two will lead the publication of a special issue titled “Application of carbon fibers in adsorption” which will highlight the recent research in carbon fiber composites used in wastewater treatment.?Elated Dr Shooto said: “To be appointed as a guest editor is not only a positive reflection on the individual but also of the department and the university.” He continued, “Postgraduate (Masters and PhD) students are encouraged to engage in research and to submit their research to academic journals. Journal editors can host “meet the editor” sessions for the post-graduate students perhaps those who are towards completing their studies to help these students to become more familiar with high standards and expectations of journals.”

For Prof Mtunzi: “To be nominated is more about recognition of my contribution to research,” he said.

According to the duo, accepted manuscripts under this Special Issue are published in Applied Sciences (impact factor 2.838) and the accepted manuscripts are published immediately after being accepted by the Guest Editors.

Dr. ND Shooto obtained his PhD in 2017. ?His research passion and interest include projects that deal with synthesis of composites based on plant materials impregnated by nanoparticles, with the aim of removing various pollutants such as metal ions, dyes and inhibit the growth of pathogens from wastewater. He has more than 5 years of experience employed as senior lecturer at 新沙巴体育网_沙巴体育app-篮球世界杯投注网址推荐.

As an NRF-rated researcher, he has authored and co-authored over 44 peer-reviewed scientific journal papers including patents and conference proceedings.
